Water and Acne

Posted in May 15th, 2010

you’ve heard the saying hundreds of times, 8 classes of water a day is what your body. Well, while not entirely true, it’s best to be drinking 8 classes of water than none at all. The body is comprised of 70% water and needless to say, due to work, urination, etc. we lose and use a lot of water. It is only proper for the body to regain what it has lost.

While the actual factors in acne varies, it has been noted that acne is triggered by the body trying to repel toxins. You might be thinking, why the skin instead of the anus or the urinary track? Generally, these channels of elimination are so clogged that the body does the second best thing, use the skin. Of course, that is no consolation to the person who has a huge zit on their forehead. But that is where water comes in.

Water not only replenishes what was lost, but helps in flushing the body of impurities. There is nothing that can substitute for it so no amount of juice, soda, coconut water or anything else can. That said, these products probably create more problems than they fix.

We’re not saying that drinking water alone will take away acne, however, it will aid in treating it. To find out how much you need, divide your weight in half and than divide the half by 8 and you will get the amount of water in cups that you should drink daily.

Acne and Sugar

Posted in May 14th, 2010

We all know that too much sugar is not good for our bodies. Not only does excess sugar complicate such conditions as diabetes and ADHD, it also can cause cancer and a whole host of other health issues including obesity which might we add, 3 in 4 Americans are currently obese.

But what about acne? People with acne have claimed for some time now (especially those with acne) that sugar does cause their acne to flare up. Are they wrong? Dermatologists have said for years that sugar has nothing to do with acne. Well, they are partially right.

While sugar does not cause acne, it is a link in the acne chain. Just because someone eats sugar and their acne does not flare up does not mean that is not a factor. Just like a person can smoke for their entire life and not develop cancer, or eat meat all the days of their lives and never develop heart disease, does not mean meat cannot affect any of those conditions.

In truth and reality, while sugar does not cause acne, too much sugar in the body is detrimental because the body cannot deal with it. Thus it is turned into long fatty molecules and either stored as fat or is expelled. If the liver cannot help with this process due to the fact that is has secreted too many harmonies, the body goes into emergency mode and tries to expel some of them through the skin.

So to answer the question, yes, sugar is a factor in acne, however it is not the cause and is not the only factor. There are many other factors that should be taken into consideration when trying to determine how to treat the condition.

No doubt you have heard the commercials and seen the star list actresses promoting Proactive as the best solution for acne. Of course we have been well educated not to believe everything we hear, read or see and so you might be wondering if the vast majority of Proactive users actually received the desired results.

Needless to say, not all cases will be straightforward and desired results may vary so this is not based on every single case. That said, there has been very different results with Proactive. While many users have admitted to results, the results varied. More importantly, the skin did not clear up 100%.

This goes back to one of our original articles about acne. Proactive is a solution that just deals with the outside. 9 out of 10 cases, whenever any type of acne occurs on the skin, it is not just skin deep. There is a lot more especially infections inside the body.

Proactive can work and it will provide some type of relief, however, anyone who is using it should think about doing a proper cleanse to rid the body of any type of impurities that might be causing the skin to break out.

Diet and Acne

There are many causes of acne, but one that has been of much debate in recent years has been diet. There have been quite a few conflicting researches and statistics either linking diet to acne or vice versa. So as usual, people become confused and wonder which side to believe.

To answer this question, we will use a little common sense, something that seems to be lacking in the medical industry these days. We know the body has three major excretory organs, anus, urinary track and yes the skin. In fact the skin is the largest excretory organ. That said, would it be common sense for the body to use the skin to dispose of waste products?

Granted, not all of the skins is being used and not everything will be sent through it, but the body does a great deal of elimination through the skin. However, when the other channels of elimination are backed up, mainly the colon, the body is forced to push junk through the pores of the skin. Granted, acne is caused by an infection (excessive sebum clogs the hair pores), but the sebum is a buildup of toxins that were not eliminated otherwise.

What can cause toxin buildup in the body? The eating of unhealthy foods and the not eating of healthy foods. This is a simple 1 + 1 = 2 equation. Needless to say, it goes a lot deeper than this scientifically concerning the actual process but it’s safe to say that if the diet is wrong, the skin will break out, however if it is right, the skin will flourish. So what are some of the foods that affect the skin and can cause an acne outbreak? Keep reading this site to find out.

Simple tips to treat acne

When one understands the underlining factors of acne, it is not a surprise that so many American’s suffer from this acute condition. While acne is not life threatening, it can be social life threatening and can prevent many a prospective mates.

So what exactly causes acne? Believe it or not, acne is caused by the body trying to release toxins. Normally the body releases toxins through the bowels and or urine. However, when those channels are clogged, it does the next best thing, release them through the skin. Needless to say, it is less then flattering having a huge zit on one’s face, but popping them (as most people are probably aware of) only makes the situation worse. So how does one combat acne and what are some helpful hints?

Once you understand how acne comes about it can better help you to deal with it. In all truth, most acne medications only make matters worse because they attempt to cover up the symptoms and instead of doing that, they clog the pores and makes matters worse.

Acne is a way of the body saying, “hey I’m dirty and I need a cleaning.” A proper detox can totally fix this. This goes back to the diet. Foods such as green leafy vegetables (raw), fruits and other things provide enough minerals and nutrients as well as fiber to flush toxins from the body.

Herbal supplements as well as minerals such as Vitamin E (one of the best vitamins for the skins) are also great. More importantly it is great to check what the offending factors are and find a way to remove them. Such things as dairy and other animal products can make acne worse. At the least, remove them from the diet until the inflammation goes down. More importantly find proper substitutes.
